The plain answers
Every answer below is the same one you would get on the phone. If your question is not here, put it on the form and you will get a straight answer there too.
Price and booking
What are your rates?
Three crews, three rates, one number each. $250 per hour for 2 movers and 1 truck. $350 per hour for 3 movers and 1 truck. $500 per hour for 4 movers and 2 trucks. The same rate weekday or weekend, however you book. We confirm the crew and the rate in writing before the day.
Do you charge more on weekends or school holidays?
No. The rate is the rate. Weekends and school holidays book out earliest though, so if your dates are fixed, ask early for the best pick.
Is the quote a fixed price?
It is an honest hourly estimate, and we say so rather than pretending otherwise. Hourly work depends on the day: the access, the stairs, how ready the boxes are. What is fixed is the rate itself and the crew, in writing. We also wrote a guide on what belongs in any mover's written quote, including ours.
Why is there no phone number on the site?
We run enquiries through the form so nothing gets lost or misheard, then call you back on the number you give us, prepared, once. It also means every promise ends up written down, which is how we like it and usually how your family likes it too.
How far ahead should we book?
As soon as your dates firm up. End of month, weekends and school holidays go first. A weekday mid-month is the easiest slot to get at short notice.
The moves themselves
Is a granny flat move too small to book you for?
The opposite: it is our favourite job and most of our week. Short moves with heavy furniture are exactly when careful hands matter. Most fit 2 movers and 1 truck at $250 per hour and are done in a morning. The granny flat guide walks the whole day.
Can you move marble, solid timber and glass?
Yes, and it is work we take seriously: wrapped where it stands, carried on a planned path, set down level. Here is exactly how. Pianos, pool tables and safes get quoted individually after we know the piece and the path.
Do you do apartment buildings with lifts and strata rules?
Weekly. We book the lift with the building manager if you pass on the contact, hang the protection, and keep to the window. The unit access guide has a printable checklist for the week before.
Do you move offices?
Small ones, yes: offices and workshops around the Smithfield and Wetherill Park edge, usually on a weekend so Monday opens normally. Full factory relocations with plant and machinery are not us, and we will say so rather than wing it.
Do you do interstate moves?
We arrange interstate moves and backloads honestly: tell us where and roughly when on the form, and we will tell you what is possible and what it involves. We would rather say "here is how that actually works" than pretend to be a national line-haul company.
Do you offer storage?
Ask on the form with your dates. If a move needs a gap between houses, we will talk through the honest options for bridging it rather than sell you something we do not run.
On the day
What is included in the hourly rate?
The crew, the truck, blankets, straps, trolleys, stretch film, and the basic tools for beds, mirrors and door handles. Boxes and packing materials for a pack-it-yourself move are the main thing that is separate; ask on the form and we will sort what you need.
Should everything be packed before the crew arrives?
If you are packing yourselves, yes: sealed, labelled boxes are what make an hourly move fast. If packing is part of the job, we usually do it the day before so moving day starts at full speed. Packing help covers both.
What should the fridge and washing machine be like on the day?
Fridge: empty and defrosted the night before, doors taped shut on the morning. Washing machine: disconnected, drained, transit bolts in if you still have them. Say on the form if you would like the crew to disconnect them instead.
Can the family help carry things?
The boxes, happily: a family chain on the light stuff speeds the day up and cuts your hours. The heavy pieces, please leave to the crew. That is what you are paying for, and it keeps uncles out of physio.
